$202,000 Coming to Watershed to Treat Big Run #2
(12/14/00)
The third round of Growing
Greener grants were announced on December 14, 2000 and there is wonderful
news to report. Our organization has been awarded a grant of over $202,000 to
construct a large treatment facility to treat the Big Run #2 discharge! Thanks
again Growing Greener! We
submitted two proposals for this round with the unapproved proposal being for a
small assessment of the Big Run #3 and #9 discharges. If we had to choose which
grant we would get, it would have been for the Big Run #2 treatment facility.
This brings our total grant awards over the last year to slightly over $267,500!
We are on the road to recovery!

Blackleggs Creek Watershed Association
Establishes Website (12/00)
That's right! Believe it or not, our organization is now
on the web, obviously. Through a grant from the Pennsylvania
Growing Greener Program, we were able to have a website developed, which
will assist us in getting the word out about our efforts and gain much needed
support. Please feel free to browse around the site and read about our
efforts to clean up the Blacklegs Creek Watershed. And by the way, check out the
Join link to become a member and help us make a difference.
